Villages
Hello,

Happy 2008 to all of you.  May this new year bring much health and happiness to all of the residents of Horizon Villages.  Although it is February, Spring will emerge before you know it and it will be wonderful to see all our residents out and about again.

2008 Address and Phone Directory

As many of you already know this is the time of year that I put together the annual "Phone and Address Directory".  If any of you would like to update your picture please send a new one to me by March 1st.  Also if there are any changes or corrections that you would like me to be aware of please let me know as soon as possible.

Some of you have been shy about sharing a photo for the directory but please reconsider this year as it is wonderful for everyone who lives in Horizon Villages to be able to identify their neighbors.  This helps to encourage a strong sense of community that we all want to create.

You may email a picture to me at ccima@aol.com or you can send me one via regular mail and I will scan it into the directory.  Also if you have any photos of your residence such as your summer flowers, interior decorating anything that you would like to share I would love to include them in the directory.
Thanks for your participation.

Need Some Help?

Betty Buck
Many people are now remaining in their homes at Horizon Villages longer than ever before and choosing help at home instead of moving to an assisted living facility.

I am getting many requests for names of individuals that can provide help to some of our older residents.

Betty Buck is a very experienced woman who began her work in nursing homes and has for 20 years been associated with some of the top home health services in the county.

I have personal experience with Betty as she was a caregiver for my late husband and has worked for many residents of Horizon Villages over the years. Betty is currently taking residents on errands and grocery shopping, serving as a companion and assisting with personal care and bathing.

If you would like to be put in contact with Betty please call me at the office 257-6059.

Katie Gaffney
In addition to help with personal care I have been getting requests for help with cleaning. Katie is an outstanding young woman that is currently working for many residents of Horizon Villages including me.  Katie is extremely hard working, reliable and is a pleasure to be around. You could not do any better than Katie. If you would like Katies number again just call me at 257-6059

Have we missed something?

Although we work hard everyday to give you the level of service that you deserve we know that it is possible that we may have missed something, forgotten something, or did something that we shouldn't have done! This is your chance to tell us what you think.  Please leave any comments or suggestions in the black box to the right of the front door of the office,  Feel free to sign them or leave them anonymously. Either way the important thing is that we get the message,

Lawn Care Golf

Although we have been fortunate each Spring to have Bill Mellinger return to do an outstanding job on our lawns this year Bill will be working at a golf course in Arizona. Now how can we compete with that? So we will be interviewing for a new lawn person this year.  We wish Bill the very best in his new position.

Harold Wheat

Many of you remember Harold Wheat.  Harold held Norm's position here at Horizon Villages a few years ago but left to pursue his career in the ministry.  Jeanne Corbit at 2 Horizon Drive was kind enough to forward the latest information on Harold to me.

Harold has been approved as a candidate for ordained ministry in New York State. He will graduate from Wesley Seminary in
Washington, D. C. in May. He will start serving a congregation in August of 2008.  Congratulations Harold!!
