Area Schools

The Ithaca area prides itself on several outstanding school districts.  Residents of Horizon Villages have both Ithaca and Lansing School Districts nearby as well as several outstanding private schools. The following are web sites which offer additional information.

Famous for the beautiful natural scenery and the prestigious universities that lie within its borders, Tompkins County is a favorite location for families and tourists alike. Home to the gorgeous city of Ithaca, there are so many wonderful sites and activities to take in here, including wine touring the Finger Lakes, hiking the gorges, strolling the Ithaca Commons and listening to some jazz at the local club. With Ithaca College and Cornell University within minutes of one another, there is a strong emphasis placed on education in Tompkins County, a fact that is evident among its public and private schools as well. There are six public school districts among county borders and each has a charm and appeal all its own. Focusing on math, science and reading, the schools strive to provide a well rounded and balanced education for its residents and many students go on to attend college and join the work force.
